Teachers Day

Commemorating the birth anniversary of noted philosopher, educationist and statesman, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) celebrates Teacher's Day every year at the institute campus.Sir Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday we celebrate as Teacher's Day, said, "The end-product of education should be a free, creative man, who can battle against historical circumstances and adversities of nature.

 "Teaching is most important activity as a faculty member and teaching undergraduate students has a greater impact since the foundation of his/her professional knowledge is built at this stage. Excellence in teaching awards are given out to 20+ faculty members in recognition of their hard work and dedication towards the institute.

 The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) celebrated its 55th Teacher's Day today at the institute campus. Prof. M.S. Ananth, Former Director, IIT Madras and Visiting Professor, IISc, Bangalore, was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
