Energy Day 2005
 

Energy Systems Engineering (ESE) had organised its third Energy Day on  February 26, 2005 at the F. C. Kohli Auditorium, KReSIT. The objective was to disseminate the post-graduate student research to the energy industry and to strengthen industry academic interaction. It is also targeted at the ESE alumni to provide an occasion for them to visit their alma mater and keep in touch with recent developments in their field.

Prof. J. Chandrashekar, Deputy Director (Acting), inaugurated the function. Twenty five final year M.Tech. and two Ph.D. students presented their work. Presentations covered a spectrum of topics. Presentation sessions were chaired by Prof. (Mrs.) A. Ganesh, Prof. B. G. Fernandes, Prof. J. K. Nayak,  Prof. C. S. Solanki and Prof. S. B. Kedare. A poster display was also organised.

There were about 45 participants from industries and engineering colleges(AERB,BF Utilities Ltd., Enercon (India) Ltd., Excel India Ltd., NPCIL, PRS, RCF, RE Ltd., Thermax Ltd., Unik Techno Systems Pvt. Ltd., L & T, MEDA, MSEB, Real Innovators, MAIRAM, K. J. Somaiya College, D. Y. Patil College of Engg., MIT Pune, VJTI Mumbai etc.). A number of ESE alumni had also actively participated in the event

The Energy Day concluded with a panel discussion on “Sustainable Energy Systems for the future”. The panelists were Prof. S. P. Sukhatme, Professor Emeritus, IIT Bombay, Mr. H. N. Daruwala, Vice President, Godrej Mumbai and Dr. V. V. N. Kishore, Senior Fellow, TERI, New Delhi. Prof. R. Banerjee chaired and moderated the panel discussion. The panelists presented the possible future energy scenario for the county.
