About

Desai Sethi Centre for Entrepreneurship (DSCE) was established in 2014 at IIT Bombay to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. The Centre offers B.Tech (Minor) in Entrepreneurship, comprising 8 courses taught by Institute faculty along with industry experts.

Aspiring entrepreneurs can also benefit from mentoring programs and micro-grants. This includes I-NCUBATE program for market immersion, IDEAS-MAP for product development, and I-WiE for women in entrepreneurship. These programs are supported by alumni and partner organizations.

    I-NCUBATE is the flagship program of Gopalakrishnan-Deshpande Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GDC), IIT Madras, which enables faculty and researchers to take ideas from the laboratories to the marketplace.   • CareNX Innovations

    CareNX Innovations was founded in 2015 by Shantanu Pathak, while he was still a research scholar at IIT Bombay. Within a couple of years, his team grew to 20 people in charge of research, hardware, software, web and mobile app development, operations, marketing and sales.

    JanYu Technologies was started in 2016 by Manchella Hemanth, who completed his Dual Degree (B.Tech plus M.Tech) in Aerospace Engineering at IIT Bombay in the same year. While at IITB, he took entrepreneurship courses and also developed a proof-of-concept of collaborative robots using a micro-grant from DSCE.

    Faclon Labs was started by IIT Bombay alumni Rishi Sharma and Archit Naraniwal. They completed their B.Tech in 2015, in mechanical and civil engineering, respectively, and worked in PwC for about an year before founding Faclon Labs in April 2018. Another co-founder is Utkarsh Srivastava, a computer science graduate from UP Technical University.
