IIT Bombay Students Win The Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award

Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award/ Appreciation 2018  function was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 19, 2018. Dr. R.A. Malshekar, Chairperson of the Research Advisory Committee, SRISTI and NIF felicitated the awardees in the presence of the Hon'ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind during the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship 2018.

During this function, former students Mr. Trivikram A. and Mr. Avinash Prabhune of IDC School of Design won the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award/ Appreciation 2018.

While Mr. Trivikram was felicitated for the project 'Vein Detector' completed under the guidance of Prof. Girish Dalvi, Prof. Purba Joshi and Prof. B.K. Chakravarthy, Mr. Prabhune was felicitated for the project 'Window-mounted Solar Cooker' completed under the guidance of Prof. B K Chakravarthy.

Ms. Debasmita Mondal and Mr. Sourabh Agrawal, students of Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering who have developed a "Smartphone-based impedimetric disposable biosensor for detection of cardiac biomarkers" under the guidance of Prof. Soumyo Mukherji have also won the coveted award. The award carries a trophy, certificate and a research award of Rs. 15 lakhs from Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).
