Faculty and student team from Department of Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science brings laurels to the Institute

In the recently held PAN IIT Global Conference, there was an inter IIT Competition for “Ideas on ‘New Environments for learning, teaching and research including creation, use and preservation of digital resources’”on which the team from IITB, comprising of Prof. Parag Bhargava and student Mr. Sreerang Chatre from MEMS won the competition and were awarded with a Trophy and a cash prize of Rs.50,000.00.

The ideas had to be sent as a document for the elimination round in which 6 IITs participated.  The final round, held on 24th December in Mumbai was a presentation round in which we competed against IITD.  Our team proposed a bagful of innovative and practical ideas on learning methods, course contents, faculty, research and so on.  The ideas were highly appreciated, so much that the judges talked of the actual implementation of some of them.
