GENERAL RULES FOR PERMANENT STAFF
ELIGIBILITY
 
Staff members of the Institute and their dependents are entitled to complete medical facilities including reimbursement, as laid down in Schedule “AA” appended to the statutes. Summarized information in this regard is given in subsequent paragraphs.


FAMILY
 

Family for this purpose means, the staff member’s spouse, children including step children and adopted children and parents, wholly dependent on and residing with the staff member, parents are treated as dependents and part of family provided they are residing with the staff member and their monthly income including pension does not exceed Rs.1,500/-.

(A) Gainfully employed sons/daughters and married daughters, even if they reside with the staff member will not be treated as dependents. A female staff member will have the choice either to include her parents or parents-in-law as her dependents.

(B) Children including legally adopted children, stepchildren and children taken as Wards subject to the following conditions :
Son : Till he starts earning or attaining the age of 25 years, whichever is earlier.
Daughter  : Till she starts earning or gets married, whichever is earlier, irrespective of age limit.
Son suffering from permanent disability of any kind (physical or mental) : No Age Limit.

 


WHEN BOTH (HUSBAND AND WIFE) ARE EMPLOYED
 

a) When both husband and wife are employed in the Institute either of them can choose to prefer the claim on behalf of self and family, by declaring the fact through a joint declaration.

b) When the spouse of a staff member is employed in a state/Central Govt. /another Autonomous/Corporate body, he can choose to claim reimbursement either from the Institute of from the spouse’s employer by declaring the same through a joint declaration.

c) When the spouse is employed in a private organization where the facility is not available or when it is available for self only, a letter to this effect should be produced from the employer of the spouse.

The rules are subject to change as may be made by the Institute from time to TIME.



MEDICAL IDENTITY CARDS
 

The identity Cards issued by the Security Section for each Staff Member and each of his family members clearly indicate whether or not medical facilities can be granted to them and if granted up to what extent.

It is requested that all the staff members should update their details in the service book so as to enable to get the correct information about their dependents.
