IITBombay Celebrates Vanamahotsav 2009

IIT Bombay organized its annual tree-planting drive “Vanamahotsav 2009” on June 29, 2009 at the Hill Slope behind Hostel No. 4 of IIT Bombay. Prof. Devang Khakhar, Director, along with a large number of school children participated in this tree planting drive.

This annual tree planting festival at IIT Bombay was started by C R Pradeep, a student from the mathematics department back in 1992 and since then this eco friendly exercise has been held every year in month of June. Last year the students planted 2000 saplings on slope of the hill behind the campus.
