Dr. (Mrs.) P. Venkatachlam, Centre of Studies in Resources Engineering, was selected for the National Geospatial Award for Excellence for the year 2007 in recognition of her outstanding lifetime contributions towards research and development in geospatial technologies, building GIS-based manpower through | |||||

teaching and capacity building programmes, and for the development of an indigenous GIS software. She received the award on December 18, 2008, at the inaugural session of Indian Society of Remote Sensing Annual Convention at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The award consists of Rs. 50,000/- in cash, a citation and a medal. |
