Prof. Sandip Roy, Department of Chemical Engineering, along with his ex-student Shri Deepak Somani (currently a SAP consultant with IBM), participated in the competition event on "Leadership in Research" in the recent PAN IIT08 Global Conference at IIT Madras during December 19-21,2008. It involved authoring a position paper on the theme of "How to Improve the IIT Research Ecosystem ". This also happened to be the focus of the conference. Prof. Roy's team was adjudged the winner of the competition. The trophy was awarded during the concluding plenary "Knowledge Capture" session.   (http://www.che.iitb.ac.in/faculty/sr.html)
