ONLINE Application for Autumn Semester - (2012 - 2013)

PHD ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Registration
    • Click 'Registration' on PHD ONLINE Application Homepage
    • Type in your name and email address in the form. You will be provided with a Confirmation Key. Note down your Confirmation Key.
    • Your Confirmation Key will also be sent to your email address.
    • This Confirmation Key is very important for filling the ONLINE Application Form and accessing the Application Status.
  2. Login for registered applicant
    • Registered Applicant should click 'ONLINE Application' on PHD ONLINE Application Homepage.
    • Type in your Registered emailid and Confirmation Key, and click 'Login'.
  3. Filling of ONLINE Application by the Registered Applicant (after login)
    • Enter departments (atleast one), personal details, research interest of your choice, valid gate score (if available), employment details etc.
    • Either use 'Save And Continue Later' or 'Submit Finally' option.
    • You can preview your application at every stage by clicking on 'Preview Form'.
    • ONLINE Application Form can not be edited further after using 'Submit Finally' option. Hence, before clicking on 'Submit Finally', you must check that all the information filled by you are correct.
    • ONLINE Application will be processed only if 'Submit Finally' option is clicked.
    • Do not keep the page idle for more than 30 minutes, otherwise the session will expire.
  4. Documents to be Uploaded
    • Upload scanned 3.5 x 4.5 photo (of type jpg/jpeg/png) with size less than 30 kb.
    • Upload scanned Signature (of type jpg/jpeg/png) with size less than 10 kb.
    • Upload scanned Marksheet of last semester/Consolidated Marksheet of the Qualifying Degree (of type PDF) with size less than 200 kb.
    • Upload scanned Caste Certificate [ OBC-NC/OBC-NC(Minorities)/SC/ST ] if applicable (of type PDF) with size less than 200 kb.
    • Upload scanned PD certificate if applicable (of type PDF) with size less than 200 kb.
    • Upload SoP for Aerospace Engineering (AE) and CTARA(TD) OR an essay proposal(1500 words) on a topic of research interest in place of SoP for SJMSOM (MG), (of type PDF) with size less than 200 kb.
    • Try to scan it using 200dpi so that the document will automatically compress upto required Upload Size.
  5. Payment (after login)
    • Both Demand Draft (DD) and Online payment options (SBI online banking OR Credit/Debit Cards) are available.
    • Either DD payment OR Online payment can be made only after final submission of ONLINE Application Form.
    • Application Fee is Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST Applicants)
    • DD payment can be made by clicking on 'DD Payment'.
    • Online payment can be made by clicking on 'Pay Online'.
    • If you have made payment through DD, submit the DD along with a copy of the application in person at the counter of Academic Office, IIT Bombay or mailed only by Registered Post or Speed Post to the following address so as to reach the Academic Office, IIT Bombay on or before 4-4-2012.

      Write "PHD ONLINE Application for Autumn 2012-2013" on top of the envelope.
      You must write your Name, Department,Application number and Email address on reverse side of the Demand Draft.
