(Salient features)

Insurance cover against :

Personal Accident: accidental death and/or bodily injury caused by external, violent, visible means including food poisoning.
Medical Expenses: reimbursement of medical expenses incurred due to hospitalization (including OPD treatment) consequent upon injury caused as mentioned above. 

Benefits :
*  Accidental death Rs.1,50,000 During the entire period of cover
*  Loss of sight of both eyes or loss of two entire hands or two entire feet (both by physical separation) Rs.1,50,000 -do-
*  Loss of use of two hands; two feet or one hand and one foot or one eye and one foot or one hand Rs.1,50,000 -do-
*  Loss of sight of one eye or use of one entire hand or one entire foot Rs. 75,000 -do-
(In all the cases the result must occur within 12 months from the date of accident)
Permanent, total and absolute disablement Rs.1,50,000 -do-
Medical expenses
* Expenses incurred on hospitalization consequent upon such injury Actual sub. to the max. of Rs. 60,000 During entire policy period.
*  Expenses for carriage of dead body Actual sub. to Rs. 2,500. During entire policy period.
Educational Grant
*  If one child below the age of 25 yrs. Rs.5,000 During entire policy period
*  If more than one child below the age of 25 yrs. Rs.10,000 During entire policy period
Important :
  •  Compensation only under one head; maximum liability limited to sum insured as indicated under compensation and expenses.
  • What is not covered 
     #  Intentional Self-injury, suicide and attempt there at; injury when under influence of liquor and intoxicating drugs.
     # Aviation or ballooning in aircraft other than as a passenger in any duly licensed standard type of accident.
     # Loss during pregnancy and childbirth.
     # Loss due to venereal disease, AIDS.
     # Committing any breach of law with criminal intent. 
     # War, invasion and similar perils.
     # Ionizing radiations, contamination by radioactivity from nuclear fuel and similar perils. 

Claims procedure :
  •  Immediate written notice to the Co., on occurrence of insured event, by the student / Institute.
  •  Submission of completed claim form to the Co.
  •  Submission of all medical papers / Hospital History Card, including medical bills / cash memos.
  • Certificate from the Dean of the Institute that the injured / deceased was a bonafide student of the Institute and was insured on the date of the accident.
  • Discharge of the claim from the student / Institute in the case of injury / death as the case may be. In the case of death the Institute’s discharge will be final. The Institute to make disbursement to the parent / spouse as the case may be.
  • The company may depute, at its discretion, their representative to visit the student/ hospital.
