The Seat Allotment and Acceptance is done entirely online. Candidates are NOT required to report to any institute/centre to accept the seats. Three rounds of seat allocation will be conducted. However, once the seats are filled, the seat allocation will be closed. Seats will be allotted based on the applicant UCEED category rank and choice of institutes. Selected candidates will be informed via their registered email, and will be directed to an online payment portal to remit the Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs. 60000 (Sixty Thousand Indian Rupees) for Open/OBC-NCL candidates and Rs. 15000 (Fifteen Thousand Indian Rupees) for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

The joint seat allotment will be governed by the following rules:

a. If the selected candidates do not remit the seat acceptance fee before the given deadline or decline the admission, their application will stand cancelled. These vacant seats will be filled during the subsequent rounds of seat allotment.
b. If an applicant is allotted his/her FIRST choice of institute, the candidate can either ACCEPT (‘freeze’) the choice or DECLINE the offer.
c. If an applicant is allotted his/her SECOND or THIRD or FOURTH choice of institute, the candidate can opt to either ACCEPT (‘freeze’) the choice, or ACCEPT WITH THE OPTION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR UPWARD MOVEMENT (‘float’) the choice for subsequent round(s), if any, of the joint seat allocation or DECLINE the offer.
d. In the ‘freezing’ option, candidates ACCEPT the offer and indicate that they do not want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation. Such candidates will NOT be considered in subsequent rounds of allotment.
e. In the ‘floating’ option, candidates ACCEPT the offered seat and indicate that, if admission to an institute of his/her higher preference is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue with the currently accepted institute. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of allotment.
f. For candidates who choose the ‘floating’ option, allocation of a seat in an institute of his/her higher preference would automatically result in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by him/her in the earlier round.
g. Candidates offered seats have to remit seat acceptance fee only once. Thus candidates who are allotted another seat (because they chose the ‘float’ option) do not have to pay seat acceptance fee again.
h. For candidates who accept offered seat, the seat acceptance fee will be adjusted against the institute fees of the admitting institute at the time of joining. For candidates who decline the offered seat after remitting the seat acceptance fee, the refund will be governed by the policies of the admitting institute.

Selected candidates will be sent provisional seat allotment emails from the UCEED Office to their registered email addresses. Additionally they will be able to check their allotment status on the Online Application Portal. The email will contain information about the allotted institute, the Seat Acceptance Fee, the online payment procedure, and the due date.

Candidates MUST pay the Seat Acceptance Fee to confirm their allotted seat. Failure to remit the seat acceptance fee within the stipulated date & time will result in the automatic forfeiture of the seat, and such candidates will be excluded from further rounds of allotment. Those who have paid the Seat Acceptance fee will have the choice to either FREEZE or to FLOAT the offer. For those exercising the FREEZE option, final letter of seat allotment will be made available for download. For those excercising the FLOAT option, the final letter of seat allotment will be available only after the seat is frozen or at the end of the final round.

If a candidate who is allotted a seat in a round (fresh allotment) withdraws before the deadline for that round, the Seat Acceptance Fee is fully refunded. If he/she withdraws before the deadline for the next round, half (50%) the Seat Acceptance Fee is refunded. That is, candidates allotted seats in the 1st round can withdraw before the deadline for the 1st round and get full refund, or can get 50% refund if they withdraw before the deadline for the 2nd round. Candidates allotted seats for the first time in the 2nd round can withdraw before the deadline for the 2nd round and get full refund, or can get 50% refund if they withdraw before the deadline for the 3rd round. No refund is given after that as there is no option to "float" the seats after the 3rd round.

Note that the admission is provisional subject to the verification of all required ORIGINAL certificates & documents as as specified by the admitting institute. The admitting institutes have the right to cancel, at any stage, the admission of a candidate in accordance with the rules and regulations in force, if it is found that any information provided by the candidate is incorrect or the application is incomplete.

Candidates will have to report to the respective Institutes as per the schedule given to them in the final seat allotment letter, for physical verification of original documents, pay balance fee, attend orientation and start classes.
