As part of IITB's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Women cell has started large-scale training of IITB members in gender awareness and sensitization. In continuation of this goal, 20 workshop sessionswere conducted from 25th to 28th of July 2018, for the UG freshers on gender sensitive behaviours. A mandatory training, it covered 1061 UG first-year entrants, which included 159 female students.These 45 minutes workshop-style sessions were facilitated by our Institute's Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) champions trained by Women cell in collaboration with the PoSH@Work, an organization Empanelled by Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. The themes discussed in the workshop included consent, handling rejection, sexual harassment law, working of the Women’s Cell and Internal Complaints Committee. These orientation workshops were a dedicated effort towards creating and maintaining a gender-sensitive, respectful, safe living and working space at IIT Bombay.
