This course will cover concepts of FACTS including the description, principle of working and analysis of various FACTS controllers, control of FACTS and system interactions.

Course Contents

·        Introduction to FACTS

·        Description, principle of working & analysis of various FACTS controllers including SVC, STATCOM, SSSC, TCSC, UPFC & IPFC.

·        Control of FACTS.

·        System interactions: Power Flow and Stability analysis of systems with FACTS controllers.

·        Transient Simulation of FACTS controllers.

Tutorials & Demonstrations

Apart from lecture sessions, tutorials and simulation demonstrations are planned.

Who Should Attend?

This course is intended for professionals in the power sector who are involved in design, planning and operation.
