Eligibility for Admission

M.Tech. Program

Final selection for Admission will be based on GATE percentile (where applicable) and the performance in the interview to be conducted at the Institute.

Candidates with a B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc.(Engg.) degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Metallurgical branches and a high GATE score are eligible to apply for Corrosion Science and Engineering.

In addition, candidates who have passed the CSIR/NET are also eligible, provided.

a) the above examinations are recognized as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Degree.

b) candidates MUST have obtained a FIRST CLASS in the above examinations .

c) the candidates have a minimum of two years professional experience after passing the final examinations.

d) candidates have a valid GATE score.

Foreign nationals possessing qualifying degree from an Indian University will have to qualify through GATE for being considered for admission.

Ph.D. Programme

M.Tech./M.E. in any above discipline or M.Sc. (Chemistry) with a good academic record.

Application forms can be obtained from Deputy Registrar (Academic), IIT Bombay by post on payment of DD in favour of Registrar, IIT Bombay payable at State bank of India, IIT Powai with self addressed stamped envelope (27x12) of Rs. 16/-. Application forms can also be downloaded from www.iitb.ac.in/admissions.

Financial Assistance:
