The Honourable Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the new Hostel 17 at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay campus on March 27, 2022. The Minister also unveiled the plaque and planted a tree in the hostel campus.
The Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIT Bombay Dr. Pawan Goenka, Director of IIT Bombay Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri and other key IIT Bombay functionaries were also present on the occasion.
Congratulating IIT Bombay for the newly-added hostel facility on campus, the Chief Guest Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan said, “In a residential education campus, quality of student, the content of study, quality of teaching rendered by the faculty and the ambience play a major role in moulding the students’ career. I feel ambience helps to create positivity and positivity gives rise to innovative thoughts”. He urged IIT Bombay to become a global solution provider for all societal problems and IIT Bombay’s students to become employers rather than being employees.
