The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 rankings were released on June 5, 2023, by the Ministry of Education.

IIT Bombay has been ranked 4th in the Overall category, 3rd in Engineering, 10th in Management, 4th in Research, and 7th in the newly-added category of ‘Innovation’.
