
Prof. Haripriya Gundimeda is a renowned economist specializing in environmental and energy economics. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, and an M.Sc. in Mathematics from the Regional Engineering College (now NIT), Warangal. She has undertaken post-doctoral research at the London School of Economics and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Prof. Gundimeda’s research interests include climate change, green accounting, energy economics, and the economics of biodiversity. Her work bridges economic theory and environmental sustainability, contributing significantly to national and international efforts in policy development and natural capital accounting.

The Ph.D. thesis "Environmental Accounting, Carbon Sequestration Potential and Policies for Carbon Mitigation in India". has been adjudged as the Second Best Contemporary Thesis of the year at the National Doctoral Consortium, Indian Institute of Sciences (IISC) Bangalore, November 24–26, 1998 and awarded the All India Management Association – Bangalore Management Association (AIMA-BMA) Trophy, a citation and a cash prize.
