Introduction

Indigenous knowledge systems (IKS) represent the wealth of tradition, culture, and innovations unique to a community or region. These systems encompass knowledge related to agriculture, healthcare, crafts, environmental management, and much more, forming a vital part of nation’s heritage. As India strides towards a self-reliant (“Atmanirbhar”) and developed (“Viksit Bharat”) future, protecting and promoting these knowledge systems through robust Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) frameworks is imperative. This conference aims to bring together experts, policymakers, academics, and practitioners from across the globe to discuss the role of IPR in safeguarding and leveraging indigenous knowledge for national development.
