A significant milestone in student infrastructure development was marked with the ground-breaking ceremony of Hostel Buildings 12E and 14D, located adjacent to the existing 12D Wing.
The event was graced by the august presence of Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director; Prof. K.V. Krishna Rao, Deputy Director (Finance, Infrastructure and Administration); Prof. Milind Atrey, Deputy Director (Academics, Research and Translation); Prof. Suryanarayana Doolla, Dean (Student Affairs); Prof. Atul Srivastava, Associate Dean (Student Affairs); Prof. P. Vedagiri, Dean (Infrastructure Planning & Support) and his team along with other distinguished guests.
The ceremony began at 12:45 PM, followed by a ceremonial address and a symbolic groundbreaking. Prof. Vedagiri delivered the welcome address and highlighted the salient features of hostel 12E and 14D project. Prof. Rao, Prof. Atrey, Former Deputy Director Prof. Sudarshan, and Former Dean of Infrastructure Planning and Support Prof. Tom Mathew spoke about the project. Prof. Kedare appreciated the efforts of Dean IPS office team and highlighted the Institute’s continued commitment to enhancing student living facilities.
Hostel 12E, comprising 341 rooms, and Hostel 14D, comprising 162 rooms,s will add 18,896 square metres of built-up area to the campus infrastructure. The new hostels are thoughtfully designed to provide modern, comfortable, and well-equipped accommodation, aiming to enrich the residential experience for students.
This upcoming hostel forms part of the Institute's broader plan to expand and modernize its facilities in line with growing student intake and evolving campus needs.
