IIT Bombay and Washington University in St. Louis Launch 11th Cohort of Joint Executive MBA Program

IIT Bombay, in collaboration with Washington University in St. Louis, launched the 11th cohort of the Joint Degree Executive MBA (EMBA) Program at the IIT Bombay campus, marking another milestone in the long-standing academic partnership between the two globally reputed institutions.

The launch ceremony was attended by senior academic leaders, distinguished faculty members and industry professionals, who welcomed the incoming cohort and marked the commencement of the academic journey for Executive MBA Batch 11.

The event commenced with welcome remarks by Mr. Gopal Shukla, CEO of the IITB–WashU Joint EMBA Program. The inaugural address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Mr. Aspi Patel, Chief Technology Officer, Aditya Birla Group, who spoke on the importance of continuous learning, strategic leadership and adaptability in an evolving global business environment.

The ceremony also featured addresses by Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, senior faculty members from IIT Bombay and representatives from Washington University in St. Louis, including Prof. Mike Mazzeo, Dean of the Olin Business School, and Prof. Markus Baer, Vice Dean of Executive Education.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shireesh Kedare highlighted the role of the program in preparing leaders to navigate uncertainty and rapid technological change through rigorous academics and global exposure.

The 11th cohort comprises senior executives, entrepreneurs and functional leaders from a wide range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, finance, consulting, healthcare, energy and consumer businesses. The cohort brings an average professional experience of 17 years, reflecting the program’s relevance for experienced leaders.
Jointly delivered by IIT Bombay’s Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management and Washington University’s Olin Business School, the EMBA program offers global faculty engagement, international immersion and exposure to best-in-class management practices.
