IIT Bombay commemorated the 11th International Yoga Day this year on June 21, 2025. Mr. Dinesh Ghodke (International Wellness Expert & Former Director of Art of Living – Youth Program) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Around 200 people participated.
The event was graced by several functionaries including Prof. Sachin Patwardhan (Acting Director), Prof. Suryanarayana Doolla (Dean SA), Prof. Atul Srivastava (Associate Dean SA) and Mr. Ganesh Bhorkade (Registrar).
Numerous faculty members, officers, staff and students were also present to mark the occasion. The Chief Guest encouraged students to incorporate yoga in their daily lives. In the evening, many took on the Yogathon challenge of performing 108 rounds of Suryanamaskar, and most succeeded.
The International Day of Yoga is held on June 21 every year worldwide to create awareness about the various benefits of practising yoga. Yogastha, IIT Bombay hosts a variety of yoga sessions, workshops, lectures and contests throughout the year.
Students and teachers of KG School, Campus School and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Powai also celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 in their school premises.
