On the occasion of World Hindi Day (10th January, 2026) and National Youth Day (12th January, 2026), the Institute’s Hindi Cell organized a series of academic and cultural activities at IIT Bombay.
An Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition on the theme “The Growing Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Today’s Youth: A Support or a Challenge” witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various colleges. Participants presented compelling arguments both for and against the topic and were evaluated by a panel of judges based on language proficiency, subject knowledge and presentation skills.
Commemorating National Youth Day, a quiz competition was conducted on 12th January, 2026, for students and staff members. The quiz focused on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, World Hindi Day, and contemporary Institute-related events.
The Prize Distribution was held during the Valedictory Ceremony, which was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. Nagesh D. Pawar, B. K. Birla College, Kalyan, along with Institute functionaries and distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. Ravindra Gudi, Deputy Director (FIA); Prof. Ambarish Kunwar, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering; Mr. Ganesh Bhorkade, Registrar and Mr. C. P. Joglekar, Joint Registrar (General Administration). Certificates and prizes were awarded to the winning participants.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ravindra Gudi highlighted National Youth Day as an opportunity to strengthen leadership qualities, positive thinking and a commitment to nation-building among the youth. Prof. Nagesh D. Pawar emphasized the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda as a guiding light for young minds, inspiring self-confidence and a spirit of service to the nation.
Mr. Ganesh Bhorkade, Registrar, IIT Bombay, shared that the ideals of Swami Vivekananda continue to inspire today’s youth towards morality, discipline and self-reliance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Vaishali Bahulkar, Hindi Officer, IIT Bombay.
