SemiX, the Centre for Semiconductor Technologies at IIT Bombay, successfully organized the 3rd Annual SemiX Summit on its campus from September 25 to 26, 2025. The event attracted over 500 delegates from industry, government, academia including over 300 students from IIT Bombay and other colleges.
Dignitaries Shri Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, MeiTy, Shri Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO of ANRF, and Shri Deependra Singh Kushwaha, Development Commissioner at the Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, emphasized central and state governments’ commitment to the Indian semiconductor sector and the role of SemiX as a key institution that brings multiple contributors and stakeholders together towards fulfilling India’s Semiconductor Mission.
Professor Shireesh Kedare, Director of IIT Bombay, announced the transformation of SemiX at IIT Bombay from a Research Centre to India's first Academic Centre for semiconductor education and research, encompassing multiple domains of engineering and technology.
Professor Udayan Ganguly, the professor in charge of SemiX, announced upcoming investments in semiconductor infrastructure for hands-on semiconductor manufacturing learning, a University Affiliate Program to expand the nationwide education outreach with a Hub and Spoke model, and a pre-incubation pilot to accelerate translational research to startups.
