IIT Bombay Hosts ‘Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath’

IIT Bombay, in association with Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), hosted “Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath” at the P. C. Saxena Auditorium on August 27, 2026. The programme was organised as part of the nationwide youth engagement activities marking National Sports Day 2026 under the “Yuva Connect” Programme.

The programme featured a virtual address to the nation by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, graced the programme and addressed the gathering. In his address, he highlighted the importance of sports and encouraged young people to actively participate in sporting activities.

The other dignitaries present also included Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay; Ms Nandini Agasara, heptathlete and Asian championship - gold medallist; Shri Amit Punde, State Director, MY Bharat Maharashtra; and Shri Anup Ingole, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Mumbai.

A key highlight was the Yuva Samvaad, which provided young participants an opportunity to share their ideas and aspirations on building a more civic-minded and future-ready youth, reimagining volunteering for the new age, and strengthening MY Bharat as a platform for youth participation.

The programme also featured an engaging interaction with students on strengthening India’s sporting culture, promoting fitness and enhancing the role of young people in the country’s development. Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Powai and IIT Campus School and Junior College, NCC cadets, members of IIT Bombay’s Sports Council, sports convenors, staff sports teams and other participants enthusiastically took part in the programme.

The initiative encouraged young people to embrace sports, fitness, volunteering and youth-led nation-building and contribute meaningfully towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
