IIT Bombay Signs MoU With IIIT Pune

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune (IIIT Pune) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 23 July 2026 at the IIT Bombay campus to strengthen academic, research and innovation-driven collaboration between the two institutions. The MoU was signed by Prof. Shireesh B. Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay and Prof. Vineet Kansal, Director, IIIT Pune.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in joint research, faculty and student exchange, internships, knowledge sharing, innovation and capacity building. It also provides opportunities for IIIT Pune students to participate in research and internship programmes at IIT Bombay, fostering academic excellence and technological advancement.

The visit comprised interactions with IIT Bombay's Research & Development unit, visits to the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) and BharatGen, and discussions on the Early Induction Programme (EIP). These engagements provided the IIIT Pune delegation with insights into IIT Bombay's vibrant ecosystem for research, innovation, entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, startup incubation and indigenous AI development. 

The discussions explored opportunities for collaborative research, translational innovation, industry-academia partnerships, faculty and student engagement, and the creation of a robust innovation ecosystem, laying the foundation for impactful collaborations that contribute to technological advancement and nation-building.
