IIT Bombay is proud to acknowledge the latest act of generosity by Distinguished alumnus Dr. Pramod Chaudhari (B. Tech., Mechanical Engineering, 1971), Founder Chairman, Praj Industries Limited, whose philanthropic leadership continues to strengthen both academic and residential life at the Institute. His recent contribution has made possible the creation of a new, modern dining space at the 800-capacity Hostel 4 Dining Hall, the hostel where he lived during his undergraduate years. In recognition of his lifelong engagement and enduring commitment to the Institute, IIT Bombay has named this newly reconstructed facility in his honour. It now stands as the largest dining hall on the IIT Bombay campus.
This contribution builds on Dr. Chaudhari's longstanding dedication to advancing IIT Bombay's mission. Over the years, he has supported several transformative initiatives, including the Parimal and Pramod Chaudhari Centre for Learning and Teaching, which fosters pedagogical innovation; the Pramod Chaudhari Alumni Continuing Education Centre, which advances lifelong learning for alumni; the Bio Processing Laboratory; endowed Chair Professorships and the DBT–Pan IIT Programme.
Through these initiatives, Dr. Chaudhari continues to play a pivotal role in enriching both the academic environment and the student experience. His generosity stands as an inspiring example of alumni leadership shaping the future of IIT Bombay.
The Institute expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Pramod Chaudhari for his continued generosity and support.
