IIT Bombay celebrated the 76th Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, reflecting the Institute's commitment to constitutional values, today, at F. C. Kohli Auditorium, Kanwal Rekhi Building (KReSIT), IIT Bombay.
The event commenced with a collective reading of the Preamble led by Ms. Shyama Iyer, Ex National Training Coordinator, Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay.
The highlight of the event was a keynote address by the Chief Guest, Mr. Vishwanath Giriraj, IAS (Retd.), former Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of Maharashtra and ex-Chairman of the Fifth State Finance Commission. His insightful talk on various aspects of the Indian Constitution, enriched by personal experiences from his distinguished career, provided a deep understanding of constitutional governance.
The observance concluded with a mass singing of Vande Mataram, marking 150 glorious years of the iconic national song, celebrating national unity and patriotism.
The event was attended by IIT Bombay functionaries, including Prof. Shireesh B. Kedare, Director; Prof. Ravi Gudi, Deputy Director (Finance, Infrastructure, and Administration); Prof. Nand Kishore, Dean (Administrative Affairs); Prof. K.G. Suresh, Chief Vigilance Officer; Mr. Ganesh Bhorkade, Registrar; Mr. Chintamani P. Joglekar, Joint Registrar (General Administration) and Ms. Priyanka Atal, Chief Legal Officer. Heads of Departments, Sections, faculty members, staff and a large number of students also attended.
