We are pleased to announce that IIT Bombay signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), Mumbai, on 8th January 2026.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay; Dr. P. Hanumantha Rao, Director General, SAMEER; Mr. Rajesh Harsh, Programme Director (Human Resources & Technology Management), SAMEER; Dr. Sunita Verma, Group Coordinator (R&D Division), MeitY; Prof. Milind Atrey, Deputy Director (Academics, Research and Translation), IIT Bombay and Prof. Sachin Patwardhan, Dean (Research and Development), IIT Bombay, along with faculty members from IIT Bombay and scientists from SAMEER.
The signing ceremony took place during the SynergyX Workshop, hosted at the SAMEER campus in IIT Bombay, aimed at fostering synergy and exploring collaborative R&D in advanced technologies. The workshop also featured technical presentations and a visit to SAMEER’s Technology Arena, highlighting self-reliance and indigenous solutions for the country in the areas of microwaves, millimeter waves and advanced communication technologies.
This partnership seeks to strengthen joint research, academic collaboration and translational outcomes across areas including medical devices, RADAR systems, antennas, 5G/6G technologies, opto-electronics, quantum technologies and environmental monitoring.
We look forward to impactful research, shared infrastructure, active student engagement and the establishment of translational research hubs through this collaboration.
