IIT Bombay's - Industrial Research and Consultancy Centre (IRCC) and National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) hosted the Industry day on 'Empowering India’s Solar Future (EISF) - Innovation, Indigenisation, and Collaboration' on 8th November 2025.

Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), graced the event as the Chief Guest. Shri Sarangi highlighted India’s rise as the world’s third-largest solar power producer and stressed the need for major renewable investments to achieve the 2070 net-zero and Viksit Bharat 2047 goals. Also, Shri Sarangi inaugurated the ART-PV India and Module Simulator Facility at NCPRE, further enhancing India's capabilities in renewable energy research, development, and testing infrastructure.

The event brought together leaders from academia, industry, and policy to discuss key areas such as Solar Deployment and Manufacturing, Next-Gen PV, and Solar Grid Integration. It featured insightful talks highlighting IIT Bombay’s research, followed by engaging panel discussions with industry experts on shaping future pathways in these domains. Visits to IIT Bombay’s Silicon Fabrication Lab, Characterization Lab, Tandem Device Lab, Module Lab, and Power Electronics Lab, were organized.
