IIT Bombay was pleased to host Adv. Ashish Shelar, Hon'ble Minister of Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, and Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra along with Mr. Virendra Singh (IAS), Secretary (Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Department) and Ms. Bhuvaneshwari (IAS), Director (Information Technology), Government of Maharashtra at IIT Bombay on 20th July 2026.

During his visit, he engaged with Institute's senior leadership, including Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director; Prof. Milind Atrey, Deputy Director (Academic, Research & Translation); Prof. Ravindra Gudi, Deputy Director (Finance, Infrastructure and Administration); Prof. Shrikrishna V. Kulkarni, Dean, Research & Development (R&D); Mr. Rishi Bal, CEO, BharatGen Technology Foundation and Prof. Narendra Shah, Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas (C-TARA). He reviewed BharatGen's ongoing work and discussed AI initiatives and opportunities for collaboration.
