A review meeting for the Bharat Innovates 2026 initiative was held at IIT Bombay on 9th October, 2025. Dr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Education, led the meeting. Mr. Priyank Chaturvedi, Director of Higher Education accompanied him. Joint secretaries Ms. Saumya Gupta and Mr. Armstrong Pame joined online. Directors from various IITs across the country participated virtually in this important discussion.

Discussions focused on the progress of Bharat Innovates 2026 and planning the next steps to ensure its successful implementation.
Bharat Innovates 2026 is sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with strategic guidance from the Principal Scientific Adviser. It is designed to provide a global platform to deep-tech innovations being nurtured at Higher Education Institutions and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes in the country.
The initiative aims to showcase the top 100 deep-tech ventures across 13 different technology themes at a Global Innovation Showcase in Nice, France during June 17-19, 2026. Selected innovations will receive strategic support to refine their value proposition, access global markets and partnerships, and secure investment from international investors.
