National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024
NIRF 2024

IIT Bombay has been ranked first in the 'Innovation' category, third in the Overall category, third in Engineering and tenth in Management. The result of the 9th edition of NIRF rankings 2024 was announced by the Hon'ble Union Minister of Education, Government of India Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan on August 12, 2024.

The parameters used for NIRF rankings include Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception.

IIT Bombay Director Prof. Shireesh Kedare said, "The students, faculty and support staff are the pillars of our Institute. Their dedication and hard work helped us reach this goal. I congratulate all the students, faculty and staff of IIT Bombay for this achievement. We aspire to improve ourselves further in all fields".

Last year, the Institute was ranked 4th in the Overall category, 3rd in Engineering, 10th in Management, 4th in Research and 7th in the (then newly-added category) 'Innovation'.

The NIRF rankings was initiated by the Ministry of Education (then Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India in 2015.
