Speaker: Prof. Ashok J. Gadgil, Distinguished Chair Professor of Safe Water and Sanitation in CEE, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, UC Berkeley and Faculty Senior Scientist, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL)

About the speaker: Dr. Gadgil is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at UC Berkeley. He has One Co-Edited Book, 148 refereed journal papers and refereed book chapters, 25 patents (issued or pending), 124 conference papers, and 27 research reports. On October 24, 2023, Dr. Gadgil was honored at the White House by the President of the United States Joe Biden with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the nation’s highest award.

Abstract: The Speaker has been associated with the development of technology for the problems of disadvantaged community for over 4 decades now. Dissemination of these technologies pose certain challenges and requires an eco system to be institutionalised. The speaker will share his experiences through successful and not-so-successful cases. His Co-edited book on development engineering has already been downloaded by about 180,000 viewers.
