IIT Bombay joined the nation in commemorating the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. The Institute observes this day every year to honour the principles of simplicity, truth, service and dedication embodied by these two great leaders.
Institute functionaries, including Prof. K.P. Kaliappan, Dean (Strategy); Prof. Suryanarayana Doolla, Dean (Student Affairs);
Prof. Atul Srivastava, Associate Dean (Student Affairs) and Mr. C.P. Joglekar, Joint Registrar (General Administration) garlanded the portraits of Gandhi and Shastri to pay respect.
The day is also marked as Swachhata Diwas, reaffirming IIT Bombay’s collective commitment to cleanliness and societal well-being.
The campus community came together to enjoy the cultural programme Swaranjali 2025.
With this observance, IIT Bombay reinforced its pledge towards building a campus community that values service, responsibility and sustainability.
